Today we took the day to enjoy the City of York – its a very old city with a lot of it still intact. Unfortunately some parts like the undercroft below the York Minster cathedral were closed as we’re in the mourning period.

After attending a brief service in York Minster, visiting the St Michael Le Belfrey next door, we sign a condolence book for the queen .

We then moved onto Shambles lane. Shambles is a very old lane but in now dominated by Harry Potter as it is the original idea for Daigon alley.

Following this we had a lovely lunch at Byrons – afterwards Renee found a chocolate and Banana pancake on our way to the York Dungeon.

Post the plague and executions we made our ways to Betty’s for Afternoon tea before heading back to Thornaby. My voice is a little hoarse thanks to Screaming ”By ODIN” as Sigmund the viking thrall so tea is welcome.
