Today we set out from Stockholm to Copenhagen. As a Hilton Diamond we’ve been having buffet breakfasts every day which I’m sure we will miss – so after a nice breakfast we headed out to the train station for our 5 hour ride to Copenhagen. At breakfast – it was the first day we ran into an American who hadn’t travelled and was struggling with basic things and just letting the experience happen – the meltdown was over how the staff were bringing napkins – it was obvious their husband had travelled for work a lot and was trying to get her to stop. It didn’t work. It was interesting.

We arrived in Copenhagen at 3.25pm. We hate the fact that our American cards aren’t chip and pin (where you enter a code) because we were forced to stand in line to get our City Pass travel cards for Zones 1-4 in Copenhagen due to our cards getting rejected at the automated machines. The fact that the Copenhagen lifts didn’t work so I was manhandling 32 Kg of luggage up 2 flights of stairs probably put me in a bad mood anyway.
After riding a local train to the hotel we put away our bags, and took a local bus around the city to go to a Danish restaurant – we are really trying to avoid eating American here – so far it’s been the single Burger King. Renee had a pork loin and I had minced beef with fried egg – Renee has commented that we haven’t had any russet potatoes here – just golden yukons (?). I just put the potato in my mouth. Thats my job. I’m very good at it.
Off to bed because we’re exhausted – my Sciatica is acting up and Renee’s back is sore. Getting old is a pain – especially when we just don’t get this level of walking in anymore.

You are hardly old yet, get some time in!😄. Hope the backs settle though!
So beautiful. Such a joy to see and hear all about your trip. So sorry about the pain. Certainly a lot of walking.
