Today we did the hop on/hop off on probably our worst ride ever – the driver was shouting at people, the bus jerked back and forth. It was unpleasant – we got off and went to Gamla stan which is the very old town – very touristy but a nice classic square with the Nobel museum on one side. We ate in a little cafe – a huge sandwich for R and chicken curry on baked potato for me – with a slice of princess cake (a Swedish dessert) to go. R didn’t appreciate the fresh Thyme in her sandwich – she is confused by the need for pickles in many things as well – including salads.

After a break in the hotel when I went to pick up our laundry we went back to old town for a meal – unfortunately we couldn’t get in Aifur the Viking tavern so we had a steak and Swedish meatballs (me) at a little restaurant and then strolled back to the tram to head back to the hotel
