So today and tomorrow are the fiesta de Quito which means there are some odd costumes walking around and lots of stages.
As a result my volunteering this morning was a bit more chaotic. I was still able to play some tabletop football as well as setting up lunch.
The buses here are busy. Today I had a new experience in that on the way in I was able to sit down!!! Here are the 2 photos of today’s so you can understand how busy they are – its 25cents per Boleta (Ticket).
So the other thing is that in Costa Rica I’ve had people selling items in the middle of the road with water and these things like potato chips. Here there is everything for sale. This lady is selling ice cream from the local store.
I went shopping with my teacher (Karina) today and bought us each a bottle of juice. Practicing my spanish with supervision. Walked a Mercado think more like Pike Street Market or North Market but bigger. There is generally at least one per district. Oh my, so much fresh fruit and vegetables – everything imaginable and according to everyone – good to just wash and eat. They have huge meat a and fish counters but Karina advised I buy from the supermercado for quality control.
