So today I went to Thai Cooking school at Mamanoi’s. It cost about $1000 baht (so $30 USD). It was lovely. First they took us to a local vegetable/fruit market and showed us those, then their large garden and showed us the ingredients in the wild (3 types of Basil here!!). Then we cooked. We had choices.
I made Cashew chicken, Tomyung soup, Panaan Curry, Spicy Chicken Salad, Mango sticky rice and we all made Thai tea and spring rolls. I didn’t cut off any limbs (mine own or others) and did get a nice small cookbook out of it of what we cooked etc (no friends, you can’t ‘borrow’ it)

As cooking school starts at 9am and ends by 3.30pm I wasn’t going to let the day go to waste. So off I went to the very modern Maya mall, I did stop at a temple by hoping to talk to monks but I’d missed the time window.
I had drinks at the Myst on top of the mall.

After that I went to the Ploen Rudee night market which was very western, had beef grilled on satay and then moved onto the traditional night market.

I returned to my room, finished my food from the cooking class and went to bed.
What a full day! You’re a bonified Thai chef now, and all your friends will be awaiting a traditional Thai dinner when you get home. 😉
I am glad there is no timeline
